One Working TV Is Evidence: Use It to Isolate the Fault
If one television receives free-to-air channels and another does not, the rooftop antenna may still be working. The fault can sit at the second TV, its tuner settings, fly lead, wall point, branch cable or the splitter output serving that room.
Do not replace the antenna or failed television first. Use controlled swaps between the working and non-working setup to identify which part the problem follows.

Test 1: Use the working fly lead
Take the known-working fly lead to the non-working TV and outlet. If reception returns, the original lead is the likely fault.
Keep the test controlled: change one item at a time. Swapping the TV, cable and outlet together does not show which change mattered.
Test 2: Try the non-working TV at the working outlet
Where the television can be moved safely, connect it using the working lead at the known-working outlet.
- If it receives channels there, the original room path is the likely problem.
- If it still fails while the other television works there, the television tuner, channel setup or antenna input becomes more likely.
Do not move a large wall-mounted television or create a lifting hazard for this test. An installer can test the outlet with suitable equipment instead.
Test 3: Try the working TV or lead at the failed outlet
If the known-working setup fails at the second outlet, focus on that wall point, branch cable or splitter output. If it works, revisit the original television and fly lead.

Why Repeated Rescanning Can Mislead You
A channel scan stores services the TV can find at that time. If reception is weak during the scan, the TV may omit channels. The empty channel list then looks like a tuning problem even though the reception fault remains.
Rescan after checking the connection and confirming the outlet has a usable signal. Do not use repeated rescans as a substitute for diagnosing pixelation or intermittent loss.

One Room Fails After Adding Another TV Point
Adding a branch changes signal distribution. A splitter reduces the level available to each output. That does not mean every multi-TV home needs a booster, but it does mean the complete outlet plan should be tested.
